MEET A PATIENT PARTNER

Treva Alston
Treva’s Story: Ms. Alston is an active member of the PaTH Steering Committee and a patient partner with both the Atrial Fibrillation and PaTH Healthy Lifestyles and Body Weight cohorts. She has completed a 34-year career with the federal government working as a chemist at the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and the Food and Drug Administration. She managed environmental programs in many of these agencies and has comprehensive knowledge of the major environmental statutes and their implementing regulations. Additionally, Ms. Alston has knowledge of chemical processes, principles, and methodologies. After leaving the federal government, she worked at the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging and the National Older Worker Career Center until April 2014. Since retiring, she has kept busy with many outside activities in the community including her work with PaTH.

Patient Partners work with our research teams to shape meaningful research questions and develop ways to let patients and other stakeholders learn about findings that may matter to them.
